Ask the Ages is a Seattle, Washington based avant-jazz band. Formed in 2010, the group includes: Greg Campbell (drums and percussion), Steven Bell (Vibraphone ), Brian Heaney (guitar), Kate Olson (sax/woodwinds) and John Seman (bass). Influences are Sonny Sharrock, Sun Ra, Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders.

New Year gigs
Starting January 8th we start a monthly gig at Cafe Racer that will take place every second Saturday till they ask us to stop. I plan on having friends and other bands opening or closing to help it work for us and Cafe Racer. Please join us if you can and spread the word. We have a few new band members and I hope to talk Stuart Dempster in joining us when his schedule allows. The big show will on april 2nd at the Chapel that will feature two pieces I wrote and will be played by Dale Speicher (Mirimba) and Kate Olson (Sax/woodwinds). We will also will have Melissa Walsh 0n Harp, Stuart Dempster on trombone/counch and Archana Bennur on vocals.

Kate Olson (sax/woodwinds) is a recent Seattle transplant from the enconomically depressed state of Michigan. She holds an MM Improvisation from the University of Michigan and hopes to rock your socks off.

We will be playing with Steven Bell for the first time on October 21st. at the Mars Bar http://www.cafevenus.com/ Steven plays vibes with effects and is a Jazz Studies student at the UW. Look for more gigs with Steven in the near future.
